Acrylic on paper, 8.5 x 11 inches. Sometimes I find myself stuck, either painting the same part of a canvas over and over without any resolution or sucked into details. One way to extract myself from this “stuckness” is to quickly create something entirely different. This work is one such product and created mostly from my own imagining. Loosely based on a thumb-nail sketch done several years ago, the young man with yellow hair helped extricate me from my complacency. I have to remember to apply this to the rest of my life.
For a musical version of “something different” try the Orkestra Obsolete playing Blue Monday using 1930s instruments.
