Blue Woman in Red. Oil on canvas (16 x 20″).
After spending several weeks learning about Alberto Giacometti I completed a painting loosely ignited by his work. I was intrigued by the elongated forms of both his paintings and sculptures, which I applied in the woman seated (head, neck and extremities). If interested in learning more about Giacometti try watching an online video (a multi part Youtube from France with subtitles), one that started me on a journey that lead to the local library and eventually this painting.
