At the base of Mt. Shasta in Northern California can be found Black Butte. The entire surface, save for tree lines, shows a deep black that offers the dramatic contrast of an early winter snow. This is my offering for the holidays, may you and those around you this time of year find peace with a hopeful healthy start to the New Year.
